War in Illuminatia
War, warmongering, and armed battle are not recognized as methods of resolving conflicts between belligerents in Illuminatia primarily because there are no nations established on the planet Neonisi where Illuminatia is located, making the concept of war between nations a moot point. By virtue of Lucidus mission guidance, plans for the settlement of Illuminatia held that there would be no partitioning of nations on the newfound planet. Illuminatians much prefer diplomacy and peaceful negotiation over the concept of an armed conflict in which resources and force might overrule or inaccurately represent the legitimate merits of an entity bearing a disagreement with another.
With all of humanity on Neonisi united under one governmental administration, there is no opportunity for different states or governments to disagree with, threaten, or invade one or another. The land of Neonisi is not divided between independent nations so therefore there is no land for one or another nation to lay conflicting claim.
Similarly, militarism, nationalism, and patriotism are not celebrated in Illuminatia as there are no other nations to defend against and no other nationalities or outgroups for Illuminatians to feel superior toward. Concepts that might serve as extensions of nationalism, such as a flag, or national anthem also do not exist, as such expressions would be redundant.
The Illuminatian government has established a Department of Peace (DOP) to ensure that the inhabitants of Illuminatia remain in a peaceful and harmonious state of existence. The DOP does not prepare for offensive maneuvers against imagined enemies and it does not equip any armies, navies, or other fighting forces. The DOP is highly prepared in the art of negotiation and diplomacy as a measure of preparedness for internal or external threats to peace.
In fact, the Glossa Communi language has no word for war. When Illuminatians study Earthly history in school, they must use euphemisms and word combinations that make sense to the average Illuminatian student to describe the wars and armed conflicts of ancient human history. These words might include "aggressive disagreement" or "hostile dispute."
Illuminatians freely express pride and admiration for their regional localities and the cities in which they live, utilizing sportsball spectatorship as a cathartic mechanism for expressing collective feelings of geographic identity, camaraderie with one's community, and solidarity with likeminded persons who reside within one's general vicinity. However, since the city limits of Illuminatia's municipalities are firmly established by a central continent-wide government, the geographic borders of authority and control for any local tertiary assembly are defined and are not subject to ambiguity or dispute. The protocols for expanding a city's geographic footprint are enshrined in Illuminatian law and regulated by the Department of Tertiary Assemblies (DTA).
