Patriotism in Illuminatia

Patriotism and nationalism are not celebrated in Illuminatia because there are no nations in Illuminatia for Illuminatians to feel patriotic about. Additionally—and perhaps more importantly—Illuminatian culture understands that the expression of patriotism and nationalism would be destructive to society and potentially detrimental to the survival of the Illuminatian branch of humanity.

Illuminatians collectively exhibit no impulse toward patriotic behaviors or displays of patriotic sentiment. Deportment and exposition related to and expressing patriotism are strongly discouraged. The Illuminatian government has no incentive to stoke feelings of patriotism among the populace in part because there is no reason to prepare citizens for the potential of war against any imagined or real enemies.
