The College of Brookeview (COB) is a public institution of secondary education with a campus located in the city of Desperado. COB offers degrees from a selection of the liberal arts disciplines, specializing in largely cerebral fields such as the governmental and political operations, mathematical arts, and electrical engineering.
Total enrollment at the College of Brookeview averages 40,000 students. While the college is a popular destination for a general liberal arts education for students native to the city of Desperado where COB is located, a much larger proportion, nearly 70% of the student body, hails from other regions of the Timmons Peninsula as well as the Brookeview Ludwig Megalopolitan Complex, most notably from the Harmony and Mendelssohn metropolitan complex as well as the city of Greensleeves.
Quite often, students focusing in electrical engineering who initially attended the Université des Manches Vertes will be attracted to the College of Brookeview. Both institutions share strengths in the teaching of electrical science, but diverge in some important respects. Such transfer students who leave UMV tend to find interest in pursuing specific education in electrical engineering rather than the more theoretical pursuits in electrical science offered by UMV. Likewise, students graduating with secondary diplomas in electrical engineering from RUI are known to continue their tertiary education in electrical science at UMV when they find their interests lie deep in the study of electricity and electromagnetism.
COB receives funding from the Bureau of Education and Enlightenment (BEE) and oversight from the BEE's Office of Curriculum and Programming. This public funding of course accounts for the vast bulk of the college's operational resources, which total 4,953,000 μ/AU.
As with all public institutions of secondary education, students at COB enjoy a nearly 100% placement rate into employment or further education upon graduation thanks to the assistance of the Occupational and Instructional Productivity and Placement System, which is administered by the BEE's Office of Assessment and Placement (OAP). It is notable that this placement rate includes placements at other universities and institutes where continuing students may pursue a higher degree or credential. A significant proportion of RUI graduates do opt to pursue tertiary degrees at the various universities of eastern Illuminatia. Many Brookeview graduates in the governmental and political operations disciplines go on to take civil service positions in national government in Voston upon graduation. Others continue their education in political science or municipal logistics at Vostonian University.
