Autocracy in Illuminatia

Autocracy is not an approved form of government in Illuminatia, and is strongly discouraged as a form of governance within organizations and corporations. Per guidelines for human settlement of the Neonisi planet put in place by the Lucidus mission, the government in Illuminatia instead operates a system of direct democracy with elements of representative democracy, technocracy, and meritocracy.

The varied forms of autocracy known to Earthly human history are now understood to inspire undesirable and potentially detrimental consequences in politics and society, which would threaten the success of the Lucidus mission, its habitation of Neonisi, and potentially the survival of the Illuminatian branch of humanity. As a result, more humane forms of governance were encouraged in Illuminatia.

Recognized anti-democratic power structures such as monarchy and theocracy expressly forbidden in Illuminatian government in efforts to prevent autocracies from forming. Nobility is societally and structurally discouraged in recognition of the inequitable distribution of power that it has been known to foster.

Politics that nurture the concentration of power and control into the hands of one person are intensely avoided in Illuminatian government. Illuminatia's established political parties all renounce power structures that unnecessarily promote individuals as figureheads, and political discourse in Illuminatia is engaged in such a way as to avoid attributing undue credit or authority to any one person for ideas and policy that are generally developed by well-rounded groups of people in a fashion that disperses power in a way that restrains the potential of autocratic structures from forming within the political process and avoids creating a potential for power to be abused in the political system.

Freedom of speech and freedom of information are strongly encouraged in order to maintain transparency in government as a way to fend off any autocratic tendencies that might remain in human nature. inheritance is generally not allowed in Illuminatia, which prevents the accumulation of excessive wealth which in turn could result in the accretion of excessive amounts of power within an individual or a family.
