The Vostonian River flows from north to south through east-central Illuminatia. The Vostonian is a fixture in the Randall Bay Megalopolitan Complex, with a course flowing almost exclusively through the conurbation. The Vostonian River originates in the Timmons Range north of Voston and empties into Randall Bay at Adamopolis, Illuminatia's most densely populated metropolis.
The river's fairly straight north-south course offers a natural boundary between the Timmons Peninsula to the east and the remainder of the Illuminatian continent to the west. Major cities residing along the length of the Vostonian, in order from source to terminus, include Voston, Birdland, Aeolian Hall, Brubeck, and Adamopolis.
The Vostonian River provides an important trans-mountain transportation route between Adamopolis and Harmony, with the river's upriver reaches nearly cutting a bisecting the Timmons Range. The valley that the Vostonian cuts into the Timmons Range delivers an advantageous relief to the terrain for traversing the mountain range that happens to be nearly perfectly located along a straight line between the two cities. The Vostonian played a significant role in exploration between the two conurbations to the north and south of the mountain range early in Illuminatia's human history. Early explorers took advantage of the route for voyages that quickly led them to discover their fellow human colonizers hailing from different multiversal duplications.
The Vostonian receives its name Professor Voston, the same historical figure from which the Illuminatian capitol, Voston, receives its name.
