Office of Natural Disasters

The Illuminatia Office of Natural Disasters (OND) is a government office operating within the Illuminatia Department of Calamity and Catastrophe (DCC). The OND oversees disaster management efforts related to calamities and other extensive incidents of misfortune that are generated through naturally-occurring means. This differentiates the OND from the Office of Anthropogenic Hazards (OAH), which oversees cataclysms that are human-generated.

The Office of Natural Disasters is commonly involved in the administration of response to and recovery from incidents such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, sinkholes, and hazardous meteorological events such as cyclonic storms, wind storms, and tornadoes.

The OND often involves the help of the Office of Unmitigated Catastrophes (OUC) when a naturally-occurring calamity persists without immediate signs of significant alleviation or is understood to be of the type that is known to endure into the long term or to normally evade human intervention.
