Birdplant

The birdplant is a locomotive meat plant native to the Lucidus mission and now endemic to the Neonisi planet. Birdplants are all avian and come in a variety of species, with habitat in the wild extending across extensive portions of the Illuminatian continent.

Birdplants, as with all meat plants, are entirely vegetal and non-sentient. Most birdplants achieve ambulation by means of passive interactions with air patterns and other natural movements. Some birdplants can interact with external stimuli and create movements in reaction to those stimuli to result in a change of course or adjustment in altitude.

Some birdplants are capable of landing on the ground in response to certain sensory inputs such as amount of light, speed of wind, or detected air pressure. Most birdplants in their natural habitats actually do not land at any point during their lifetime and only eventually fall to the ground upon death. These birdplants will successfully ride air currents relatively high above the ground and avoid obstacles.

The most popular Birdplant is the pigeonplant, which can be found in the wild or in captivity, and are found to be especially useful in cultivation for homing and message delivery purposes.
